Ordering Printed Invitations

Ordering custom-printed invitations is easy. In just 4 easy steps, you can have beautifully custom-printed invitations for your event - 1) Select your style and colors; 2) Get a price quote; 3) Participate in the design process; 4) Assemble your invitations, or have us do it for you.

Step 1. Select your style and colors.

Choosing the set-up of your invitation is probably the most challenging part of ordering your invitations. Your invitation is the first introduction most guests will receive to your wedding, and sets the mood for the entire event. You can choose to incorporate your wedding colors into the invitation, or just choose something that represents your personal style.

The size and shape of your invitation depends on the scale and budget of your wedding, as well as the number of enclosures you need to include, and your personal preference. All of the styles and sizes come in every cardstock color. Colors that are also available as envelopes are noted on the color chart.

You can also order a sample of the swatches (recommended), a pocketfold, or even a complete printed invitation, so you can see exactly what the stocks look like in person. While we do our best to replicate the colors online, every monitor is different and will display the colors differently.

Step 2. Get a custom quote

Once you have determined the basic components of your invitation, we will provide you with a custom quote for the costs involved. Invitation costs are based on the stock you select, number of layers, style of printing, number of ink colors, envelope printing, etc. We can work with you to create an invitation that fits within your budget.

Step 3. The Design & Printing

Now for the fun part! You'll submit your invitation wording via e-mail (see examples under the "verses" tab - mix and match wording or write your own). Choose the fonts for your invitation from our website, and let us know your vision for your invitations, including motifs, monograms, maps or a specific theme you'd like to incorporate. Note that adding a monogram or motif is no charge, but custom maps are extra. We'll provide you with a digital layout (PDF format) of the entire invitation, including all the enclosure cards, printed returns on envelopes, and seal. At this point, you can make any changes necessary and we'll provide a revised layout for your approval. The PDF layout makes it easy to share your layout with parents and other proof-readers to be sure your invitation is perfect. Once you sign-off on the final layout, your invitation will be sent to be commercially printed.

(Note that we do not offer instant "online proofing" on this website because we use real live people to create your custom designed layout - just the way you want it.)

If you'd rather do your own design (or have someone who is designing your project for you) we will be happy to assist you in designing your own artwork that we will commercially print for you. If you already have design element (a monogram or motif) that you want to incorporate or have a map, we can instruct you on the file formats we can utilize, sizing, and work with you to be sure everything turns out exactly as you envision it.

The Printing Process:

We offer a variety of commercial printing options for your custom invitations. Our specialty print services include Offset (flat printing), Thermography (raised printing), Letterpress (debossed), Foil, and Digital Color. We will assist you in selecting the printing method that will give you the optimum results for your design. Your printed invitations are "machine cut" to ensure precision results, and will be cut exactly to size and ready to assemble.

Step 4. Assembly

Most of our custom invitations require varying degrees of assembly. Assembly entails mounting the respective layers to the outer enclosure, inserting the information cards, and sealing the invitation. Many of our customers opt to assemble the invitations themselves. Assembling your own invitations is a great way to keep costs down, and is a more manageable "do-it-yourself" option if you're not up for printing on your own. We can help you calculate the amount of tape you'll need to complete your invitations if you need assistance.

Click here to watch "Assembly: The Movie" for a step-by-step guide to putting your invitation together.

If you don't have the time or just don't want to worry about this step, we offer professional assembly of your invitation order. We will go over pricing for assembly in your custom quote if requested.

That's it. You're ready to address and mail your beautiful invitations.
